PS3 Greatest Hits: $29.99

Sony officially kicked off its "Greatest Hits" lineup for the PS3 today, with 10 great titles making the cut. These specially priced games have really become a staple of console gaming, and represent a win-win for both software makers and consumers. We get top-quality titles at a reduced rate, and developers get to extend the shelf-life of their best games, well into the current hardware cycle. The games included on the list are: Warhawk, Motorstorm, Resistance: Fall of Man, Call of Duty 3, Fight Night Round 3, Need for Speed: Carbon, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas, Assassin’s Creed, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Resistance: Fall of Man
We are likely going to upset a lot of FPS fanatics when we say this, but you may want to consider giving this game a pass. Odds are that if you are an FPS fan, you've already bought and loved Resistance. If you are merely casually interested in the genre, stay away. The graphics in this first-generation PS3 title are already starting to show their age, and the multiplayer is downright punishing for n00bs. Wait for the upcoming sequel, which promises an overall better experience, to jump in. If you like it, the first game will still be there in the bargain bin waiting for you.

Fight Night Round 3
One of the best entries in the EA franchise changed up some of the core gameplay mechanics for the better. Career mode is kind of "meh", but the graphics and sound effects felt truly "next-gen" when the game first launched. If you were ever a fan of Mike Tyson's Punch Out on the NES, this game will take you right back to your friend's basement circa 1988.
