Sony punching out PS3s 'smoothly'

The claim comes from Sony Computer Entertainment America communications chief David Karraker by way of a GamesIndustry.biz report. He said SCEA was continually air-freighting new consoles into the US market in a bid to keep up with demand.
Karraker also alleged that the interest in the PS3 had proved a boon for SCEA's other offerings, with PSP and PS2 sales in the last seven days up 30 per cent and 24 per cent on the previous week's figures.
Separately, Sony said it was working to fix a bug that prevents games being upscaled to the 1080i HD resolution on old HD TVs that don't support the 720p standard. However, the company didn't say when the update will be published.
